JOB TITLE: Creative Lead & Writer/Director

Job Summary:

The Creative Lead & Writer/Director is responsible for conceptualizing, developing, writing, and directing creative video projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a background in creative conceptualizing for various video content styles, solid experience in animated, documentary, social, and product storytelling, as well as customer testimonials and employee content. This role will range from providing high-level creative guidance on projects to doing hands-on work conceptualizing/writing/directing productions.


The Creative Lead & Writer/Director will collaborate with accounts, production, and post-production teams and work with various internal clients/stakeholders. The Creative Lead & Writer/Director should have excellent visual storytelling skills, a deep understanding of camera technologies, experience with editing styles, and strong writing and directing chops. They should be able to work independently and be part of a cross-functional team. This hybrid role is based in Sunnyvale, CA, and involves some office work and requires regular on-site production expectations. This person will be hired to support our clients at LinkedIn. This person must provide a reel and samples of work outlining their role within each.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead conceptualizing, writing, and direction on various video projects, including customer testimonials, motion graphic explainers, marketing promos, employee meeting, and event videos, and social UGC content in alignment with brand guidelines and on brief.

  • Lead and design concept decks, presentation decks, motion assets, and templates.

  • Provide a well-crafted copy of the presentation and scripts.

  • Lead brainstorming and project concept development.

  • Source and direct Talent on productions.

  • Ensure all project deliverables meet creative and technical standards.

  • Work with partners and the production team to deliver on project goals.

  • Concept, write, and direct video projects as requested.

  • Serve as the primary creative point of contact for video deliverables.

  • Concept, write, and direct 3-5 Videos per month.

  • Create project decks, documents, storyboards, and shot lists for 3-5 monthly videos.

  • Work directly with the Client team to ensure all production and company rights, releases, policies, and guidelines are followed.

  • Follow and implement client brand guidelines and best practices for every project.

  • Participate in 15-25 Staff, Team, Project, and Post-production meetings weekly.

  • Consistently deliver clear, concise, and proactive communications to project stakeholders and team leaders.

  • Finalize and hand over all video project deliverables per the agreed-upon timeline.

  • Consistently deliver Broadcast quality on Brand video assets per Client established due dates.

 

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

Perform other creative and production duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

·       Experience/background in creating high-quality internal corporate events and meeting videos.

·       Experience/background in leading Animated/Motion graphics pieces.

·       Experience working with UGC and highly produced content.

·       Experience/background in creating social content and platforms (i.e., TikTok, Instagram, etc.)

·       Experience/background in photography, cinematography, and editing with a deep understanding of production and post-production technologies and styles.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google

·       Experience Creating Deck Presentations.

·       Copywriting experience a plus

·       Experience working with multiple stakeholders.

·       Excellent communication and organizational skills.

·       Able to work independently and as part of a team.

·       Creative problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

·       Able to work under tight deadlines and handle pressure.

·       Extremely well organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Education and Experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

·       5+ years of experience in creative production.

·       Proven experience in project management.

·       Proven experience writing and crafting scripts as well as directing talent.

·       Experience working with cross-functional teams.

·       Experience in corporate work, events, documentary, and social media content creation.

 

Physical Requirements:

·       Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·       Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment:

·       This role routinely requires using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and printers.

·       This position may require the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

·       Must be able to operate various electronic devices.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This role is designated as Hybrid - CA. Hybrid combines remote and in-office / on-site work in the Greater San Francisco Area. You are expected to work in person at our client’s office in Sunnyvale, CA, as the client requires. This role will be expected to work remotely when there is no onsite work. The office generally operates from 9 am-5 pm, but the days and hours of this position may vary week-to-week. A willingness to work varying schedules, including weekends, nights, holidays, long shifts (10+ hours), and travel as needed is required for productions. Work location may vary due to Covid protocols and safety. Mighty Media’s workplace policies are subject to change at any time based on business necessity and manager discretion.

 

Additional Information:

·       This role will perform work for certain clients of the Company that continually assess their budgets and their relationship with the Company. The Company responds to these assessments appropriately when it receives them by adjusting the number of employees necessary to service the clients’ requests.

·       Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay for this role is $156,000.00/annually. Compensation will be determined based on the applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience, along with the position's requirements, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
